Friends of Cinema Society
The Friends of Cinema Club was founded in 1991, taking over from the two cinema clubs that had been operating in the capital for the previous decade and renewed their mandate to offer Cypriot cinephiles a quality, alternative selection of films that escape the narrow confines of commercial, Hollywood cinema. Since its establishment, the film club has been holding regular screenings with tributes to directors, film waves, and award-winning art-house cinema.
Larnaka Cinema Society
The Larnaka Cinema Society is a voluntary, non-profit organization, founded in 1979. Its mission is to promote the art of cinema and contribute to audience development within the local community through screenings and lectures.
Limassol Cinema Society
For over 50 years now, the Limassol Cinema Club has been a cornerstone of the city’s cultural scene, offering weekly film screenings that celebrate the best of European and world arthouse cinema. By forging partnerships with both local and international cultural institutions, they bring a diverse range of critically acclaimed, non-mainstream films to Limassol’s theatres.
Garden Screenings
Summer screenings at the Attikon open-air theatre in the city of Paphos, organised by the Kimonos Art Center and supported by the Department of Contemporary Culture - Deputy Ministry of Culture.
Cultural Workshop Ayion Omoloyiton
The Cinema Workshop at the Cultural Workshop Ayion Omoloyiton, organises:
- Film screenings for adults, under the title ‘Cinema Wednesdays’. These cover a variety of subjects and themes: Cypriot & International contemporary narrative films, documentaries, classic films from the history of cinema etc. Cinema Workshops for children. These are organised in collaboration with the Film Festivals ‘Cyprus Film Days’ and ‘Animafest’.
- Lectures and presentations about cinema.
- Activities to promote Film Education in Cyprus (mainly in schools), in collaboration with international organizations.
Cyprus Film Archive
The Cyprus Film Archive is an association that aims to preserve the cultural heritage of Cyprus and of the humankind, in general, in the field of filmmaking, with a special interest and care for Cypriot cinematographic works of art.
